The "Yuraq Quirucha" project in Quehuar Alto - Quiquijana
Salkantay Trekking traveled to the town of Quehuar Alto to carry out a dental health campaign for more than 450 students.
Continuing with the social project for dental health, "Yuraq Qirucha," the Salkantay Trekking team, in coordination with Clínica Medical Cusco and the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (DIRCETUR), carried out a new campaign in the town of Quehuar Alto, in the district of Quiquijana, province of Quispicanchi.
This time, we sensitized more than 450 students from preschool, elementary, and high school with the attentive participation of teachers. In addition, we carried out dynamic activities to better interact with the youngest students and, in this way, apply good practices for dental care.
Since 2017, we have been developing this project to promote good dental hygiene practices with the Quechua slogan "YURAQ QUIRUCHA," which means WHITE TEETH. The main objective is to educate children about dental care and help them create awareness about the importance of their dental health.
What makes these trips different?
We believe that a vacation should be more than a hotel room, a flight and a rental car. It should be more than the sum of its parts. We also believe a challenge can help you grow and a trip can stir the soul. We create journeys worth taking - for the traveler, for the host and for the world.
